The businessperson's debate forum
Dinars Cambra, Chamber Lunches in English, are informal meals and colloquiums featuring leading lights from the political, business and economic worlds. They are held at our Casa Llotja de Mar headquarters each month and address topical issues of interest to business leaders.
They consist of a meal followed by the keynote speech by the guest of honour and a subsequent open colloquium for attendees, moderated by a journalist. Former speakers have included Telefónica CEO César Alierta; CEO and Vice Chairman of the Santander Group, Alfredo Sáenz; former vice-president and CEO of Caixabank, Josep Maria Nin; basketball stars Marc and Pau Gasol; advertising heavyweight Lluís Bassat; and
Abertis president Salvador Alemany.
The purpose of these events is to discuss the needs, concerns and interests of the Catalan business fabric. Executives and professionals interested in learning about the country's economic and social issues first-hand and in establishing relations gather at these lunches, which, depending on the keynote speaker, can involve between 200 and 300 attendees.
The major media outlets also respond to the events with interest and cover the views of these opinion-formers assembled by the Barcelona Chamber.
